Avdijaj claims Liverpool and Madrid
Former Hearts bit part player Donis Avdijaj has shown that his greatest regret in his career has been to reject offers from Liverpool and Real Madrid after insisting that his time at Tynecastle was a success.
The Kosovar international was the first contract from former boss Daniel Stendel in January after the former Schalke prodigy canceled his Trabzonspor contract.
Upon arrival, Avdijaj said: “There is no country, no city in the world where I do not meet. I meet everywhere. “
But Edinburgh turned out to be an exception, as he only played three games for the club, although he now bizarrely claimed he had played for them a dozen times.
Avdijaj is now a free agent and has had discussions with Braga and clubs from other countries, stressing that Hearts relegation time was worth it.
Of course it could have gone better for me. I am not dissatisfied with what happened at Hearts. I could have stayed at Trabzonspor, but I wanted to play more games.
I knew that I could get more out of myself, so I made the move to Scotland and saw myself on the right path with Daniel Stendel.
Scotland was certainly a new environment for me, but it was worth the experience.
I am confident to say that I will always find a club that wants me. There are currently discussions with other top league clubs in four different countries.
I never doubted my ability. I’ve had twelve games at Hearts and you don’t know how it would have been if the corona virus hadn’t intervened.
Scotland was good for me because of the quick kick and rush style, which is of course very pronounced there. It was a cool experience and helped me develop.
The biggest mistake in my career, which I deeply regret, was when I turned down a mega offer from Liverpool before signing the long-term contract with Schalke, a club that was close to my heart. I also had an offer from Real Madrid.
