Boga has no regrets for Chelsea’s exit after the best career season with Sassuolo

The former Blues striker supports his decision to leave Stamford Bridge after shining in Italy

Jeremie Boga stressed that he has no regrets for leaving Chelsea after a strong season in Serie A with Sassuolo.

The 23-year-old forward moved to Italy in 2018 and scored eight goals while contributing four more assists in 25 appearances this season.

That form has seen Boga connected with possible moves to Inter and Juventus, although it remains contracted with Sassuolo until 2022.

While open to accepting a new challenge next season, Boga has no regrets for his decision to leave the Blues.

“I’m ready for a new chapter,” said Boga Telefoot. “I have no regrets, since I made the right decision to leave Chelsea. I think it was the best choice I could have made in those circumstances.

“Nothing is final yet. I spoke with the coach Roberto De Zerbi to better understand the situation. I am ready for a new challenge, both in Italy and abroad, but I could also stay in Sassuolo.

“I think Serie A football is right for me and I’m having the best season of my career so far.”

Boga, who arrived at the Chelsea Academy, made only one senior appearance for the club.

Objective he recently revealed that the Blues are in advanced talks with Sassuolo that they would earn them a one-time undisclosed commission and exchange their repurchase clause for a first option on a future sale of Boga.
