Munich – The long wait comes to an end for Cam Newton. The former Carolina Panthers quarterback has found a new home and just signs with Bill Belichick and the New England Patriots. The reactions to this on social networks are mixed.
New logo for the Patriots
Every football fan should know that the former NFL-MVP is known for his extravagant clothing style at press conferences. Whether headscarf, fedora or fur coat – Cam Newton will leave its mark in New England, the network is sure of it.
However, we think it’s rather unlikely that the otherwise gray Bill Belichick will be inspired by Newton’s fashion.
A new era in New England
Since the departure of franchise icon Tom Brady, the new era for the Patriots has officially begun. Like Captain America in “Avengers: Endgame”, Tom Brady hands over the franchise to his successor Cam Newton.
Skepticism meets anticipation
On the Patriots fans side, the joy is somewhat limited. Last year’s four-round pick Jarred Stidham was long considered the new franchise leader, and the idea of a collaboration between the extroverted Cam Newton and the more reserved Bill Belichick does not necessarily cause anticipation.
So it happened. At some point I had said it before. Cam Newton to the Patriots. That should be clear. Stidham potential 1 but as soon as he wiggles cam. Hoyer 3 and the rest is out. I’m curious how it will be. # RanNFL #GoPats https://t.co/ia41gdWCnE

For the majority of users, surprise mixes with a certain anticipation of Newton’s return to the football field. ran football commentator Carsten Spengemann sums up the mood of most fans perfectly.
NFL colleagues are happy for Newton
Numerous NFL players have also commented on Newton’s move. Whether Christian McCaffrey or Odell Beckham Jr. – they are all happy for the 31-year-old quarterback.
Soo happy for cam! Everyone is about to witness a come back season like no other!
