On July 4 of this year, the competition “Vaidava Triathlon” will take place in Vaidava, Kocēni district, which will also be the stage of the Latvian triathlon cup, Kocēni district council reports.

Depending on the age group and level of preparation, the following distances will be available – (swimming 0.1 km + cycling 5 km + running 1 km); (0.2 + 10 + 2); (0.4 + 20 + 4). This year, the Olympic or Vaidava Standard distance (1.5 km + 40 km + 10 km) will also be available. Children will also have the opportunity to try their hand at symbolic triathlon.
A new group “First Triathlon Kocēni” has been introduced in the competition this year to encourage those interested to try their hand at the symbolic triathlon distance. Everyone who has reached the age of 13 is invited to participate in this group, and the participant must confirm that he / she has not previously competed in a world triathlon competition.
The organizers ask the participants to register in time, it will be possible to do it in person on the day of the competition from 10.00.
The organizers also inform that traffic restrictions are planned in connection with the competition. From 11.45 to 16.00 residents and guests will be able to enter and leave Vaidava on the road Druļļi – Jāņkalni – Ķikuti – Vaidava; along Gaujas Street. Public transport will not be disrupted.
