Pjanic makes transfer decision amid Man Utd and Chelsea interest

Manchester United and Chelsea target Miralem Pjanic will turn down a move to the Premier League in favour of joining Barcelona, according to reports.

The 30-year-old has established himself as one of the top midfielders in world football and after winning a third consecutive Scudetto with Juventus last season is now ready to take the next step in his career.

According to Mundo Deportivo, Pjanic has decided he will only play for Barca, despite lucrative offers from United, Chelsea and Paris Saint-Germain.

The Bosnia and Herzegovina international wants to play alongside Lionel Messi at Camp Nou and believes the Spanish side’s style of play suits his game perfectly.

Pjanic was rumoured to be part of a player-plus-cash swap deal to bring United star Paul Pogba back to Turin this summer, but that move looks unlikely to happen now.

Aston Villa midfielder Jack Grealish

The French World Cup winner has been linked with an exit from Old Trafford in the next transfer window, with the midfielder’s agent Mino Raiola admitting in February that Pogba ‘would not mind’ a return to Italy.

Despite the financial impact of the Covid-19 pandemic, the Red Devils are still expected to press on with their summer transfer business.

Borussia Dortmund star Jadon Sancho is top of the wishlist, while United are also reportedly keen on Aston Villa’s Jack Grealish and Birmingham City’s 16-year-old prodigy Jude Bellingham.

Dortmund chief Carsten Cramer dropped a hint earlier this week that the coronavirus crisis could potentially force the club to drop their £120 million asking price for Sancho.
