While waiting to know what the Federation will decide on the outcome of this season, in Banyoles you know that, no matter what, Adam Fontes will not sit on the bench anymore. Neither next season or this one in case you decide to end it. Coach Rosinc announced his farewell to the club yesterday at noon in a statement on social media that took everyone by surprise. “The club has other ideas for next season and I have no plans to renew myself,” said the coach. Fontes is clear that due to the coronavirus pandemic, “there will be no football so long” and he doubts that the season will end. In that sense, however, he maintains that in the hypothetical case of the league resuming in a few months, “it would not make sense for me to take the team and the next day when the new season starts I will be out.”
Fontes then closes a three-season stint at the Pla de l’Estany club where in the first year he saved his team from relegation, last season he reached the promotion to Third and this year he is leaving, for the moment, in places of permanence. “I would have continued another year. He had climbed the team and was comfortable with Third. They, however, have considered it the end of a cycle. I understand them and I can agree. I’ve been a sports director and I respect the idea of wanting to start something new, “he says. Fontes leaves after three years “very good but hard” and makes him “happy, proud and grateful” in Banyoles.
Looking to the future, Fontes is open to everything. “I would like to train at least Third. I don’t mind having to go to Barcelona or outside of Catalonia. Today (for yesterday), a couple of teams have already called me. With patience I will value and choose the best project. “
