Should Cole Anthony leave for the NBA? Coach Williams says “Yes”

Just two days ago, UNC Freshman Cole Anthony gave fans an update on his decision to declare for the NBA,

“Many people have asked me if I’m going to declare for the NBA Draft. Anyone who knows me understands that playing in the NBA has been a lifelong dream of mine. However, given the pain that America and the world are experiencing in at this moment, I refrain from making any announcement on this matter. “

It is commendable for a nineteen-year-old to think in front of others before him; Cole Anthony is one of the few children he can declare in his time. With a famous NBA father, Anthony doesn’t carry the weight of others depending on him like most children in his situation. A blessing that does not take for granted.

But without sport, that doesn’t stop analysts, fans or even coach Roy Williams from thinking about life without Cole Anthony. Coming to UNC, no one expected him to stay beyond his first year; from high school, Anthony was already considered a lottery choice. Coming to college was an added experience for him; it was not a necessity. The kid knows how to dance, and Williams sees the work ethic behind Anthony, and there is no doubt in his mind that he will detonate the explorers during the combine (if there is one). He says Inside Carolina,

“I think, first of all, about his love for the game. He loves training. Basketball is what he loves and I mean love. Capitalize every single one of those letters. He will make people explode in individual workouts, and his l ‘commitment to the game, his commitment to being a better player and his commitment to his calling there is where very few people have ever had it. “

With five things to do and do, Williams is ready for Cole’s departure,

“Yes, I don’t think there is any doubt in my mind that Cole will leave, but I do it every year. Last year we had Coby [White], Nassir [Little], Room [Johnson] they were all in the first round, and then Luke [Maye] and Kenny [Williams] we played in the G League, so we had five boys, two of whom were freshmen. We sent the evaluation form for university students out of four people, and of those four, only one remained, so I always do. “
