    Ferran Torres free transfer

Liverpool could land Valencia wonderkid Ferran Torres on a free transfer if they are prepared to wait a year to sign him.

Corriere dello Sport claim Liverpool have now joined Barcelona in the race for Torres.

His current contract runs until next summer and it contains a release clause of £91million.

Valencia have already made strides to try and extend his stay with an improved contract offer, but Torres seems set on leaving.

Staying put cannot be ruled out given his assurances of regular football but it’s now looking increasingly likely that he will be leaving the club.

That could force Valencia to cash in as they face the prospect of losing him on a free transfer further down the line.
