Andersen wins the stage and Schachmann consolidates the lead

The Danish Soren Kragh Andersen (Sunweb) won this Wednesday in the fourth stage of the Paris-Nice, a 15.1-kilometer time trial in Saint-Amand-Montrond, in which the German Maximilian Schachmann (Bora) consolidated the leadership.

The German runner fulfilled the predictions, who only yielded in the arrival against the Nordic for six seconds and his advantage at the head of the general classification is now almost one minute (58 seconds) with respect to Kragh himself, who has made an important leap overall, as Italian Giacomo Nizzolo (NTT Pro Cycling) dropped to ninth place.

The podium of the day was closed by another Dane, Kasper Asgreen (Deceuninck-Quic Step), 12 seconds from his compatriot, who had not won since his victory in Paris-Tours in October 2018, while the Spanish Pello Bilbao completed a good day with the fifth position to fifteen seconds, although it has no options in the general.

Colombian Sergio Higuita (EF Pro Cycling) gave up 46 seconds, five fewer than compatriot Mario Quintana (Arkea Samsic) and is fifth overall at 1:06. Movistar’s exciter is twenty-fifth at 2:38.

Frenchman Julian Alaphilippe, who was racing at home, was eighteenth to 36 seconds and progressed to nineteenth overall.
