The German Emanuele Buchmann finished off the offensive of his team, the Bora-Hansgrohe, and won the Serra de Tramuntana Trophy alone, 160.5 kilometers between Sóller and Deià. The cyclist who left the last stage leader of Itzulia that Ion Izagirre won, surpassed in 38 seconds a group headed by Alejandro Valverde (Movistar), in his white jersey with the red flag as state champion.
The race had as its protagonist a sextet with, among others, Joan Bou (Euskadi), Juan Fernando Calle (Caja Rural) and Isaac Cantón (Burgos), the three teams fighting for two invitations for the Tour of Spain.
The battle for the stage victory broke out on the ascent to Puigmajor (2nd). It was Lennard Kamna (Bora) the first to move. Then they did Valverde, with his companions Enric Mas and Marc Soler, and Buchmann, who ended up leaving alone.
Today the Pollença-Port d’Andratx Trophy is held, 168.9 kilometers long and finalized at a height of 2 kilometers at almost 9%.
