A European race is not always simple sailing with a lot of twists on the road.

And that’s exactly how it is for Rangers.

They had a fairly comfortable group stage, testifying to how well they played.

But if you remember returning in the summer, they faced four vigorous rounds of qualifying.

They are always difficult to understand with how early they arrive in the season and the Rangers have been asked some questions, especially in the qualifying round 4 against Legia Warsaw.

The Rangers traveled through Poland’s difficult environment for the first leg and fought for a 0-0 deadlock.

They had to pull him out against a deceptive opponent and advancing to the group stage was by no means a foregone conclusion as they returned to Ibrox.

And it was another close encounter when the Light Blues cut the Poles with a 1-0 win to seal their place in the next round.

Looking back, that tie against Legia proved to be key to achieving success in the group stage and the last 32 rounds.
