COMPLETE REPORT – HAA-MA-ZING
Erling Haaland has scored twice for the new club Borussia Dortmund while Paris Saint-Germain has experienced another miserable night in the Champions League, Anthony Chapman writes.
Haaland started in the 69th and 77th minute to give the Germans a 2-0 lead in the last draw of the last 16 and give Neymar a shot at hoping for a second European winner’s medal.
The Brazilian had just drawn for PSG in the 75th minute, when Haaland was hired by seventeen year old American John Reyna of Sunderland to take the roof off the net and put Dortmund in pole position to move on to the quarterfinals.
Haaland, who joined Dortmund from RB Salzburg just last month, fired in his tenth goal of the season less than ten minutes earlier to give the home team a well-deserved lead.
But Neymar’s away goal, derived from Kylian Mbappe’s crazy run, seemed to have given PSG the edge ahead of next month’s first leg.
