Eddie Nketiah will remain at Arsenal for the rest of the season after impressing Mikel Arteta in training.
The attacker was wanted by a number of clubs, including Bristol City, who had been chasing him since the summer in which he had rejected the Robins in favor of Leeds United.
Here’s what all the clubs involved in the transfer saga fan say about the situation.
Tom: Well, this is awkward news to wake up to!
Official Dibble:The city of Bristol spent six months asking Eddie Nketiah to go out together and spent six months telling us to leave. I think it is time for everyone in the club to accept the obvious fact that he is not interested in us and moves on to other goals!
Charlie: Thank god we can stop talking about him now. It would have been an excellent sign, but if he and Arteta think it will improve the putrefaction of reserves, then we can easily look elsewhere.
Ollie Yorke: Despite the 43rd setback in the past two weeks, there is presumably an abundance of attackers available in this window.
Stephen Coombes: Frustrating, of course, but if your anger is directed at the club, the player, Johnson or Ashton, you have to lie down. Time for plan b. If there is no plan b, it is time to get angry.
Joe: Do we go out and try to take Britt Assombalonga? Sure enough he’ll do a job and we could definitely attract him to the club.
James Cox: Sincerely feel so bad for MA, LJ and the recruiting team. I guess they spent so much time trying to secure the attacker, and they were treated so badly. Let’s go again, trust the club.
The Don: I am reminded of the phrase that puts all the eggs in the same basket …
Patrick Timmons: The integration of the youngsters into the first team has always been the key to Arsenal and it’s nice to see Arteta buy it from the offset. With the talent we have acquired and Martinelli, Saliba, etc. Arriving from the outside, the future looks bright. Hopefully Nketiah can excel.
AFC VIP: Eddie Nketiah must have performed as Ronaldo in training if Mikel Arteta wants to keep him. I think it would have been better for him to lend it. Saka addressing Lb had an influence.
Matteo: I can’t see him having a lot of playing time to tell the truth.
A.D: In all honesty, I’d probably be fine training against Luiz and Sokratis.
Gooner Michael: I actually feel bad for Bristol City because they clearly wanted it for so long and were snubbed twice at the last minute. I hope this does not affect any future loan agreements with any of our other young people on loan to them.
Nosaj: It makes a lot of sense. Here he is better learning the ways in which the Arsenal and Arteta regime will work and he will also have free time off the bench and perhaps European games. I’m glad you stay.
Laurence: He robbed Lee Johnson again.
Dirty Leeds: I can’t lie … This made me smile.
Paul: The best place for him other than Leeds.
Al Barrie: I’m happy for him, training wisely would have been a great step forward from Bielsa going to another club. I hope he has his chance at Arsenal.
Aaron Smyth: He would have had more than one opportunity to stay in Leeds for the rest of the season.
Forest Fanzone: He would have had more playing time in Leeds than in Arsenal this season … strange Arsenal decision than.
Cameron Clark: Forest that is slowly running out of options.
alex: I can’t afford to throw away our championship position by not signing anyone.
Woof Zip Criminal: Really not worried about Nketiah. If we want to give young people playing time, I would prefer it to be ours.
sam: He doesn’t care about losing Nketiah. Arsenal would never have lent us a player to be a replacement for Grabban. I’d prefer one (or both) of Kodja or Murray for our attacking target.
