Chilean pilot Pablo Quintanilla (Husqvarna) won the 11th and penultimate stage of the Dakar-2020 between Shubaytah and Haradh (Saudi Arabia) on Thursday and cut in half his lead over the leader in the general classification, the American Ricky Brabec ( Honda). Quintanilla, already the winner of the 9th stage, was just 9 seconds ahead of the Austrian Matthias Walkner (KTM) and the Argentinian Luciano Benavides (KTM) of 2 min 48 sec.
In the general classification, Brabec is still on favorable ballot for a first victory in the event, but he only has 13:56 seconds ahead of Quintanilla against 25:44 seconds the day before. The 12th and last stage will take competitors from Haradh to Qiddiya on 477 km on Friday, including 374 km of special.
