Rick de Rooij succeeds Ernest Faber as head of youth education at PSV. The club announced this on Monday in a press release. Faber was appointed in December as the successor to the dismissed Mark van Bommel.
De Rooij has been working as a youth coach at PSV for four years. Now he is moving on. “The temporary transfer from Ernest to the A-selection must of course have as few consequences as possible for the training,” says technical manager John de Jong on the PSV club site.
“With Rick as the point of contact and coordinator, the continuity of the process is guaranteed. He remains in close contact with Ernest and me and ensures that the daily operation continues in the way we are used to.”
De Rooij succeeds Faber at least until the end of the season. It is not clear what PSV plans after that.
