Sheffield United striker Oli McBurnie was warned by the FA for an “obscene gesture” he made on Sunday to Cardiff fans.
The 23-year-old, who was seen supporting his former Swansea club during their 0-0 draw in Cardiff, was reminded of his responsibilities by the British football governing body.
The images surfaced on social media showing McBurnie photographed while making an “obscene gesture” towards Cardiff fans during the game.
The Scottish striker scored the goal of Sheffield United’s victory in the Premier League 1-0 win over West Ham, just under 48 hours earlier.
McBurnie also led the chants of visiting fans during Swansea’s 3-1 victory over QPR at the Kiyan Prince Foundation stadium in August.
Scottish team Two Side Cove Rangers fired midfielder Fraser Aird for making an offensive gesture against Celtic fans during an Old Firm derby in 2019.
