ASHLEY YOUNG is still hoping to score a move to Inter this month, although the Italians are already signing another left back.
Inter will land Leonardo Spinazzola of Roma in a direct exchange with the wing Matteo Politano, who heads to the Olympic Stadium in the opposite direction.
But Young, the captain of the Manchester United club, believes he is still desired by the Serie A giants who hoped to sign the former English national team in free transfer in the summer – but now they want it immediately.
Young, 34, also a target of Lazio, has refused a new deal at Old Trafford, but the key is whether both Inter and United can agree on a commission.
Inter’s current left back is Cristiano Biraghi, on loan from Fiorentina, although Conte is using him as a full back because the League title chasers are playing with three central defenders.
The former Chelsea boss Conte is also returning to raid the Premier League with moves for Oliver Giroud and Christian Eriksen.
The Blues will collect nearly £ 6 million from their old manager for the French World Cup winner Giroud.
Inter will pay £ 4.3m upfront with £ 1.7m in add-ons for the duration of a two and a half year deal.
In turn, Giroud will earn around £ 3.4 million, as well as giving his Euro 2020 chances a huge boost after falling out of pecking order under Frank Lampard this season.
The sporting director of Inter, Piero Ausilio, has been sent to conclude an agreement also with Eriksen, but the two clubs have not yet agreed on a compensation.
The Italians offered only £ 8.5 million, but Tottenham held out for £ 17 million, although the Dane is out of contract in the summer.
