Hans Kraay junior has finished the discussion about the position of Matthijs de Ligt in the Dutch national team. The analyst is short of superlatives after his raid on AS Roma.
De Ligt had to take a seat on the couch more often in recent months than he would like, but Kraay is quite happy that there will be speculation again during Voetbalpraat on FOX Sports. “Some people started to speculate and get nervous because De Ligt played a few games from the base by Merih Demiral. He really played fantastic against AS Roma. Although he doesn’t play eight games or ten, he is with Virgil van Dijk the very best, “he concludes.
“He was so terribly good Sunday,” he repeats again. “Without doing strange things, without giving strange passes. All head duels won, all balls on the right leg hard to play,” Kraay continues his hymn. Co-analyst Sjoerd Mossou sees few problems anyway. “Imagine that it would go wrong with De Ligt, that would not be the biggest problem. We have Stefan de Vrij in the back, we will figure it out,” he concludes.
