Inter manager Antonio Conte really wants to try to dethrone Juventus this season according to a report in today’s paper edition of the Gazzetta dello Sport.
Juventus have reigned supreme over Italian football for the past seven years as they have won all Serie A titles and Conte is determined to give his all to end their winning run.
To do this, Conte wants several players involved and has targeted players who know his ways to make their transition to Inter as smooth as possible.
He wants to bring a new full back and it looks like he will be one of Leonardo Spinazzola and Ashley Young after Chelsea have assessed Inter Milan in a move for Conte’s number one goal for this position, Marcos Alonso. Neither Spinazzola nor Young have worked with Conte but both are highly experienced players.
Conte’s main focus for this window was Barcelona midfielder Arturo Vidal, with whom he worked for Juventus. Barcelona however were reluctant to leave the player who forced Inter Milan to look elsewhere and have set their sights on Spurs’ Christian Eriksen.
For the attack, Conte wants Chelsea’s Olivier Giroud to be brought to support the club’s record with Romelu Lukaku, who has 18 goals in 25 appearances in all competitions.
