SC Heerenveen and Nemanja Mihajlovic have finally got rid of each other. The Leeuwarder Courant reports this. The Polish Arka Gdynia will shortly take over the 23-year-old attacker.
The final paperwork is currently being prepared, making the transfer of Mihajlovic a matter of time. For Heerenveen it means a big financial windfall. The player weighed heavily on the Frisian budget with his non-EU salary.
Heerenveen took over Mihajlovic in the summer of 2017 for almost two million euros from Partizan Belgrade. In Serbia he was known as a great talent, but the supporters in the Abe Lenstra Stadium rarely saw that. The wing attacker never managed to force a base spot.
Mihajlovic was allowed to leave Heerenveen last summer. After not taking a new chance under trainer Johnny Jansen, the Serbian was completely out of sight. Heerenveen had him train the last few months with the promises.
At Arka Gdynia, the current number thirteen of the Ekstraklasa, Mihajlovic meets two Dutchmen: Marko Vejinovic and Fabian Serrarens.
SC Heerenveen and Nemanja Mihajlovic have finally got rid of each other. The 23-year-old wing attacker, this season no longer in the first selection, will sign a contract with the Polish club Arka Gdynia.
