Chelsea are eager to make great strides in the January transfer window with regards to improving the quality of their team and Moussa Dembele is a name that will not disappear.

No matter how many times Lyon deny that Dembele will leave France, the mill rumor continues to lose ground.

This is especially true due to the fact that Lyon are aiming to become one of the most active teams in the transfer market this month, which could prove to be a good thing for Chelsea.

Lyon already have some well-known forwards, but they are trying to strengthen their depth if they want to believe the reports.

Le Havre forward Tino Kadewere was one of the club’s most recent players, but another name has now appeared and could be great news for Frank Lampard.

Claim L’Equipe that Lyon entered into a loan agreement with an obligation of 20 million euros (£ 17 million) to be purchased with Villarreal for striker Karl Toko Ekambi.

But this too was previously denied by President Jean-Michel Aulas. If an agreement is eventually concluded, it could represent a change in what Lyon plans to do this month.

Aulas also denied that Dembele is ready to leave, with the 70-year-old who explained earlier this month that the former Celtic star has stood still.

He said to RMC: “We have not changed our minds. We have already clarified this problem in August.

“Moussa is an excellent player. A player we need. We are taking explicit measures in our recruitment to not involve someone who will compete for his position.

“It’s not a question of money. Moussa will be with us.”
