The Spaniard, who recently scored his 100th game by captaining the club by scoring against Brighton, played an important role in the 2010s after joining us from Marseille shortly after our 2012 Champions League triumph.
In the interview he retraces those early years at the club, when he was honored to join a Chelsea team containing several legendary figures, and what happened in the following years to bring us to the current structure, which is full of exciting talents who have graduated from our Academy.
Azpilicueta also reveals what he thinks the incredible success over the decade has taught him about the club. We have won 10 major trophies since 2010, which is the most common of an English club.
“I think one of the characteristics of Chelsea in this period was the victory of trophies and even when we didn’t win something, we didn’t have long spells without lifting a trophy,” says Azpilicueta Chelsea, after raising silverware in five of its seven complete seasons as blue.
