Alexandre Lacazette tells Arsenal fans to do something with Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang suspended

Alexandre Lacazette went on social media to throw his weight behind the suggestion of an Arsenal supporter.

The Gunners will face Sheffield United on Saturday, but will be without top scorer Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang after the FA rejected Arsenal’s appeal to shorten the suspension of the three games.

Aubameyang was shown a straight red card during a 1-1 draw against Crystal Palace, after a VAR review believed it had used excessive force in its pitching challenge on Max Meyer.

Arsenal appealed against the decision, but they failed to reverse the red card.

Gunners’ coach Mikel Arteta talked about the decision and what it means for Arsenal.

“It has been confirmed that it will be suspended for three games,” he said.

“It is a real shame because we know his intentions but we have to accept it.

“He was very disappointed after the game. He was superb under me, he worked hard, scored goals and was probably our most important player.

“I hope we can play better and win games.

“Players have to go one step further. It’s time to talk on the pitch and if they show that they are good or better than they are, they have a chance.”

With Aubameyang suspended, the burden is on Lacazette to end his drought and intensify in the absence of his teammate.

An Arsenal supporter posted a photo of the French international on Twitter, with the caption: ‘Big weeks coming for this man.

‘With Aubameyang out, this is the player we need to step up and help the team.

‘It has a lot to prove. Let’s go behind him and the team. “

Lacazette seemed to recognize the message of being behind the team “liking him”, which prompted more fans to respond.

One wrote: ‘It has nothing to prove. It is world class, “while another published:” I agree, but for me Laca has nothing to prove.

“He’s always the best player for me. Goals or no goals. The form is temporary, the skill is undisputed. ‘
