The poll was launched to name Man Utd Goal of the Decade

The shortlist is made up of our 10 most recent goal winners of the season and Marcus Rashford’s thunderous free-kick against Chelsea for this campaign, just to update things.

It begins with Wayne Rooney who completes a famous counterattack at Arsenal’s Emirates Stadium in 2010 and continues in 2011 with the unforgettable football in the head of the legend against Manchester City.

Antonio Valencia’s rocket-fueled strike in Ewood Park is the next since 2012, followed by Robin van Persie’s magical volley shot against Aston Villa in 2013. Rooney then receives his third nomination, with surprising effort from almost the half the line in a 2014 game at West Ham’s Upton Park.

Spanish director Juan Mata is the first of five current first-team players in the shortlist with his famous scissor kick at Anfield in 2015, followed by Anthony Martial’s individual effort against Liverpool in his unforgettable United debut at Old Trafford.

Henrikh Mkhitaryan also nods for his scorpion kick against Sunderland on Boxing Day in 2016, as does Nemanja Matic for that late winner against Crystal Palace in Selhurst Park in 2018.

In more recent times, Andreas Pereira receives the penultimate nomination in recognition of his long-range commitment against Southampton in 2019, before Rashford closes the show with that set mentioned above at Stamford Bridge in this season’s Carabao Cup. It’s not a bad list, is it?
