General manager Mets Brodie Van Wagenen expects Tim Tebow to start spring training in time after the last month of the last season trying to miss the Triple-A Syracuse at her pinkie left. It was the second straight year in which a former Heisman Trophy winner suffered a reduction in season – in 2018 he broke the hammer bone in his right hand.
Tebow slashed .163 / .240 / .255 in 77 game last season for Syracuse after being selected for the Double-A All-Star game the previous year.
“I think the injury injury stopped from 2018 some of its momentum,” Van Wagenen said. “Then he got into his season last year and started slowly and he had another injury that prevented him from finishing strongly.” T
Van Wagenen is expected to start the 32-year old Tebow back at Syracuse next season.
