The surprise draws the surprise of the first game of the Division I to win

You want to get to know a young coach who keeps producing year after year with the players who meet to attend their neighboring school – Franco Stasilli is a Grant High.

This season, with a roster of 25 players extended to 30 with some junior varsity players, Grant is 8-3 and pulled from its first playoff win in Division Division Division I Friday night with a 38-34 victory over Fairfax.

Michael Smith fled back to senior for 167 yards and two backs. He also returned a 80 yard kickoff for striking.

“They just keep fighting and never succeed,” said Stasilli.

In 2016, the first year of Stasilli went as head coach, Grant 12-0 until he lost Hawkins in semifinals Division II of the City Division. It was once-off. Grant later won the win when Hawkins was forced to forfeit an ineligible player to complete 13-0.

Each season ago, the Lancers have a route to be usually competitive with less than 30 rosters. The Grants training team is showing ability to develop players in their neighborhood and stay competitive and even move up to Division I.

The next Friday road game is against El Camino Real.
