Following the attempted robbery on Mesut Özil and his Arsenal teammate Sead Kolasinac, one of the two perpetrators was sentenced on Friday by the Criminal Court to a prison sentence of ten years. The 30-year-old attacker had his involvement in the act confessed in early October, his four years younger accomplice in early November from a confession. His verdict is expected in the coming days.
The two perpetrators had tried on 25 July to steal the two football players of Arsenal their watches. A surveillance video had shown how Özil and Kolasinac were attacked by two motorcyclists with knives at the time of the crime in London. Kolasinac had confronted the attackers with his bare hands, then the two players were able to escape by car. The season start with Arsenal had both then missed to process the events.
