Liverpool offers on the Barcelona duo amid the threat of losing essential players
Arsenal is said to be looking for one of the most successful figures from Barcelona to solve some of their problems in the early season.
Arsenal boss Unai Emery recently came under pressure after failing to bring out the results of a pretty decent team and practically losing control of the dressing room since the last few weeks. Fox Sports has now reported that former Barcelona coach Luis Suarez was set up on their radar by the Gunners as a potential replacement for their current boss.
More of Everything Barca
The Gunners are winless in their last four games, having drawn 2-2 back to Crystal Palace two weeks ago. That draw was followed by a dramatic loss against Liverpool in the Carabao Cup before two more games were linked against Wolverhampton Wanderers and Vitoria SC in the past week. The men from Emery now have a difficult visit to Leicester next to the store.
Luis Enrique has not had a job since he resigned from the Spanish national team to be with his nine-year-old daughter, who died tragically a few months ago after losing to cancer. The former Barca boss is probably even wanted by his former side, but the North Londoners will offer him a new challenge.
The assistant manager of Unai Emery Freddie Ljungberg, along with the assistant from Manchester City and former player Mikel Arteta, are also on the club's list. It was previously thought that Jose Mourinho would be called the Arsenal boss, but the Portuguese are no longer sought by the Gunners because they seemed to be closely connected to the side.
Barcelona had their second most successful campaign under Luis Enrique in 2014/15 when they won the highs. The following year, the Blaugrana won the domestic double for the Copa del Rey in 2016/17, after which Enrique retired. Lucho's record with Spain isn't bad either, so it's hard to imagine why he's not doing well at the Emirates Stadium.
Do you think Luis Enrique could also replicate his success at Arsenal?
