Did ESPN really give Monday Night Football to Richard Sherman? – ProFootballTalk

Although not at the level of #HandshakeGate, the recent statement by 49ers cornerback Richard Sherman that ESPN has offered him a "lucrative contract" allowing him to leave the field to go to Monday night's kiosk in 2018 could be just as accurate as the statement that Baker Mayfield snubbed Sherman before the Monday night draw.

ESPN declined to comment on the question of whether Sherman's been seen offering the spot that was ultimately awarded to Jason Witten. However, a source familiar with the situation explained that ESPN was very transparent with regard to the hearing process and that the list of candidates was well documented. Sherman was never mentioned as a potential candidate at the time; so, it seems he never was.

That said, Sherman could have a future in broadcasting. He is honest. He is blunt. He will not mince words or turn around the bush.

Of course, factual accuracy is an important part of the concert. There may be some work to do in this regard.
