Early detection report against western Michigan (week 4)

-

We look early at the next opponent on the role of the Syracuse football team: West Michigan. Here is everything you need to know.

Syracuse football is 1-2 or by the first three weeks of the season. They beat Liberty on the road but lost to Maryland and Clemson.

The Orange will continue their home country in Week 4 against a very familiar opponent against West Michigan.

Syracuse is among the favorites of Broncos on four points. Although, according to ESPN FPI Analytics, West Michigan has the advantage of winning this game 55.8% of the time.

Although both squads come from different parts of the country, there is a lot of connective tissue here.

These two teams met to start the 2018 season. For Winsipedia, it was the first match between these two programs.

If you remember, Syracuse opened the game by shooting at full speed. Orange opened a 34-7 lead in the first period and it was over.

With such a lead, Dino Babers decided to put the car in speed regulation, he released Eric Dungey from the game and inserted Tommy DeVito.

This was Tommy's first appearance in a college football game. The 2017 season has been a redshirt year to learn the offensive.

Unfortunately, this is where the game turned: the Broncos scored 28 points in the third quarter and pulled together to make a contest.

Suddenly, Dino had to take the car out of control of cruising speed and raise Eric Dungey to win the game.

The Orange ended up winning 55-42, but it should have been easier than Syracuse.

In one of the most unusual stats lines, you'll see that Dungey actually ran more yards than he did. Eric had 200 rushing yards (career best) on 15 carries for 13.3 yards per shot and one touchdown.

The match was also a party for Jamal Custis, who took over the role of wide receiver # 1 in this offense, highlighted by one-handed catches and significant production: six receptions for 168 yards and two touchdowns (28 yards) by reception).

But let's take a closer look at who hurt Syracuse on the west side of Michigan.

The leading smuggler, hunter and receiver are still part of the Broncos team from 2018.

Quarterback Jon Wassink collected 379 yards and three touchdowns in 2018 and continued on the pace in 2019.

Wassink completes over 70% of his passes for more than 10.6 yards per shot with a 7: 2 interception touchdown ratio.

LeVante Bellamy destroyed the orange defense last season at 120 yards and two touchdowns.

This season he has been fantastic: 289 rushing yards, six yards per shot and four touchdowns.

Season 2019 to date.

Western Michigan is 2-1 on the season. They defeated Monmouth and Georgia State 105-23.

Their only loss of the season came via the Michigan State Spartans in 19th place.

Although in week 3, the Broncos showed a historic offense against the state of Georgia according to the Associated Press:

Bellamy had 11 runs for 179 yards and 3 touchdowns at the half. Sean Tyler finished with 138 rushing yards and two touchdowns. Bellamy broke for a 60-yard touchdown sprint to start early in the first goal and added a 73-yard touchdown run to start the second quarter. Tyler broke the ball for a goal of 61 yards and added 30 yards per second while the Broncos got a 43-10 lead at halftime. "

While you can say that the state of Georgia is worried? That's the same team that upset Tennessee volunteers in Week 1: 38-30. The Orange defense will have to be ready to stop the race during the 4th week, otherwise the day could be long for Syracuse.
