ROCK FALLS – Registration is enabled for the Todd McThenia Memorial Doubles Tennis Tournament to be played Saturday at Centennial Park, 510 E. 11th St.

Admission is $ 10 per night. Team; players must be 16 years or older. Each team must deliver a new can of Championship balls. The winners retain the new can; losers take the used can. Balls should be yellow and not seconds.

The men's and women's double rooms begin at 1 p.m. 21 and mixed double rooms at.

All Centennial Park tennis courts will be closed to the public; The rainy day is Sunday.

McThenia, a 1983 Rock Falls High graduate who played on the high school and Sauk Valley Community College teams, died of cancer on March 9, 1991.

Proceeds from the tournament, sponsored by Wheelock Furniture and the Coloma Township Park District, benefit from the Whiteside County Cancer Fund. Donations in McThenia's name may be sent to the Whiteside County Cancer Fund, 4234 N. Knoxville Ave., Peoria, IL 61614 or to the Park District, 510 E. 11th St., in Todd's name.
