Perhaps no player on the Penn State team will receive as much hype before the 2019 season as linebacker Micah Parsons, and now this hype is spread nationally since named second-team player American star.
As a true rookie in 2018, Parsons led the Penn State defense with 82, while collecting 1.5 sacks, 4.0 for defeat and two fumbles. Now, he will be introduced as a starter and, according to the sound, a player lining the field for Brent Pry's defense. Expectations are high for the former five-star hope, but talent is on the way and 2019 is expected to mark his arrival as one of the best linebackers in the country.
The Big Ten were well represented in both teams: running back Jonathan Taylor (Wisconsin), special receiver / teammate Rondale Moore (Purdue), offensive linemen Tyler Biadasz (Wisconsin) and Ben Bredeson (Michigan), the half defensive Chase Young (Ohio)), defensive tackle Kenny Willekes (Michigan State) and linebackers Paddy Fisher (Northwestern) and Joe Bachie (State of Michigan) are all named in the first team. Parsons is joined in the second team by defender AJ Epenesa (Iowa). Pitt's future opponent Maurice Ffrench was also part of the second team as a kick back.
