Football second division FC Erzgebirge Aue presents a new head coach one week after the leave of absence of Daniel Meyer.
Dirk Schuster is to be officially presented after information from the German Press Agency on Monday afternoon. The club hosted a press conference at 3.30pm, without naming the new coach. First, the Bild newspaper reported that the signing of Schuster was imminent.
The Saxon club had surprisingly separated on August 19 after more than a year from Meyer. To the reasons the association did not want to say so far. The former player Marc Hensel had coached the team as interim coach for a week. Against the VfB Stuttgart, the Auer fought on Friday 0-0. With seven points, the Erzgebirge currently ranked fifth in the table.
The 51-year-old shoemaker had trained until his release in February, the league rivals SV Darmstadt 98. Between 2013 and 2015 he made the direct march from the 3rd league into the Bundesliga with the Hessians and thus made a name for himself throughout Germany. In 2016, the native Karl-Marx-Städter was even voted "Coach of the Year". For the first time, Schuster will take his place on Sunday in the away game at Holstein Kiel on the Auer coaching bench.
