Enable wins the Yorkshire Oaks

Frankie Dettori was in tears when wonder mare Enable won her 10th Group I and said goodbye to British racing in style with her triumph in the Yorkshire Oaks.

It now goes further and up in the direction of its likely final task – winning the Prix de l & Arc de Triomphe for the third time, something that no horse has ever done.

Some bookmakers have shortened Enable to evens (from 11-10) to win the Arc on October 6, with several agencies going as short as 4-5.

Under a cool ride from Dettori, Enable was responsible for 2-3 minutes in the Yorkshire Oaks in a performance that coach John Gosden described as "beautiful."

Dettori could not hide his emotions while the tears flowed freely.

"It's a shameful cry on TV, but I was crying out of luck," Dettori told the British press.

"I love her so much. I haven't lost with her yet and we've won everything.

"She felt great and she had a great look for the English people.

“I always had control today. The temptation in the past with her was always to kick a bit too fast – but today I thought I would let Ryan (Moore, on Magical) come to me before I kicked.

"When I gave her a tap, she put her head down and I knew I had won. Magic is not slow – but she is absolutely amazing, huge.

“In all honesty, we wanted an exercise gallop. But Magical has made it into a race because she is very solid – and if you gauge her performance through Magical, it was great.

"This year we have prepared better for the Arc. But we still have seven weeks, so until that time it will be sleepless nights."

It was a fourth triumph in the Yorkshire Oaks for Gosden, who later said: "She wasn't at her best in the Arc last year, but when she goes back to the shape she showed when she won the race for three, she saw look like she was today, then she will be very hard to beat. & # 39;

Gosden has ruled out that Enable will return to America and a repeated Breeders & # 39; Cup bid so it looks like the Arc will be her last race.
