SCAN SPORT – Bayern Munich formalized the arrival of Philippe Coutinho from Catalonia. An exchange whose terms were supposed to remain secret between the two clubs, but which were unveiled by Barça.
This is the outcome of a soap opera that has stirred the transfer market for several days. In lack of confidence in Barcelona, the Brazilian Philippe Coutinho has taken the direction of Germany to be loaned to Bayern Munich time of the season 2019-2020.
An operation that rushed in recent days and whose modalities were supposed to remain "secret" between the two clubs, as Bayern Munich writes in the statement announcing the arrival of the holy striker this summer with the Brazil in Copa America: "The two sides have agreed to keep the details of the operation secret". But here, in the statement posted on the Barça website, a few hours later, all the figures of the operation are included. The German club has paid 8.5 million euros to hire Coutinho and has also agreed to pay its salary (estimated at 11 million euros per year). The loan also comes with a call option of 120 million euros that the Bavarians will be free to lift, or not, in the summer of 2020.
According to the Spanish daily AS, Barça's choice to reveal the figures of the operation can be explained by the holding on the weekend of October 5, the General Assembly of the club, during which the trade balance is passed review and budget for the upcoming season is approved.
