The local government of Gijón has stopped the construction of a future field in the vicinity of the petrol station on the Pola de Siero highway, which was to be assigned as a priority for female soccer teams. The decision was taken by Sports Councilman José Ramón Tuero, who has already informed Ceares and Gijón Femenino of the change in plans.
The consistory considers that the 2.8 million euros that the work would cost is an unaffordable cost at this time. Tuero has proposed remodeling in La Cruz and providing it with artificial turf. It would cost 1.6 million euros. The previous municipal team of Foro Asturias had already committed some 300.00 euros for improvements in La Cruz.
