Atlético Madrid hat am Mittwoch auf dem Transfermarkt für Furore gesorgt. Der spanische Fußball-Erstligist kaufte Jungstürmer João Félix aus Lissabon für eine Vereins-Rekordsumme von geschätzten 126 Millionen Euro und holte zudem noch zwei Spieler aus Portugal. Zugleich gab der Club bekannt, dass Manchester City die festgeschrieben Transfersumme für Rodrigo Hernández gezahlt habe.

Atlético sorgte mit der Verpflichtung von Portugals Nationalspieler Félix für den bisher teuersten Transfer des Sommers. Der 19 Jahre alte Portugiese von Benfica Lissabon soll Medienberichten zufolge 126 Millionen Euro gekostet haben. Bei Atlético soll Félix den französischen Weltmeister Antoine Griezmann ersetzen. Der will Atlético nach fünf Jahren verlassen und wird vermutlich zum Meister FC Barcelona wechseln.

Eine Offerte, die über der festgeschriebenen Ablöse in Höhe von 120 Millionen Euro liegt, werde geprüft, hatte Benfica vor einer Woche mitgeteilt. Félix hat nach Atlético-Angaben vom Mittwoch den Medizincheck bestanden und einen Siebenjahresvertrag unterschrieben.

2. Juli: Nationalelf zieht während der EM zu Adidas

Die Wahl von Bundestrainer Joachim Löw fiel auf Herzogenaurach. Direkt am Firmensitz des DFB-Sponsors bezieht die deutsche Fußball-Nationalmannschaft ihr Stammquartier bei der EM 2020. Das Löw-Team wird im Adidas-Campus logieren und trainieren. "Wir schlagen unser Camp während der EM 2020 in der Adidas World of Sports in Herzogenaurach auf", teilte der DFB am Dienstag über die sozialen Medien mit.

Im weitläufigen Bereich am Firmensitz des DFB-Sponsors sind schon jetzt zahlreiche Fußballplätze, Fitnessbereiche und andere Sportmöglichkeiten wie Laufbahnen, Trampolins, Beachvolleyball- und Tennisplätze sowie Boulder- und Kletteranlagen integriert. Diese sollen für den Aufenthalt des DFB-Team noch erweitert werden. Erst jüngst war die in 34 Monaten errichtete neue Konzernzentrale fertig geworden. Hoffnungsträger Alexander Zverev hat in Wimbledon gleich zum Auftakt gepatzt und das deutsche Erstrunden-Debakel beim berühmtesten Tennis-Turnier der Welt komplettiert. 1. Juli: Löw sieht Kuntz als Nachfolge-Kandidat

Plötzlich spricht Joachim Löw selbst erstmals konkreter über einen möglichen Nachfolger als Bundestrainer – und Stefan Kuntz ist einer von zwei Kandidaten. Die erste Dienstreise nach seiner krankheitsbedingten Pause führte Löw zum EM-Finale der deutschen U21-Mannschaft nach Italien, wo er mit Trainer Kuntz plauderte und den 56-Jährigen gleich für Höheres empfahl. Eine verbandsinterne Lösung sei für die Zeit nach seiner Bundestrainer-Epoche eine nahe liegende Option, machte der DFB-Chefcoach deutlich. "Wir haben zwei Trainer beim DFB, die absolut die Fähigkeiten haben, Bundestrainer zu werden: Stefan Kuntz und Marcus Sorg", sagte Löw der "Bild".

"Beide haben sehr viel Empathie, das ist heute wichtig bei den jungen Spielern, dass man Zugang zu ihnen bekommt und sie auf einer persönlichen Schiene erreicht. Das können beide sehr gut", ergänzte der Bundestrainer. Kuntz zeige "trotz aller Konzentration und Disziplin immer auch ein bisschen Leichtigkeit, ein bisschen Fröhlichkeit". Löws Vertrag läuft noch bis nach der WM 2022, der von Kuntz bis nach Olympia 2020.
