The Raptors are not going to trade vets Kyle Lowry, Marc Gasol or Serge Ibaka (all with the expiration of deals) for the season, I was told. As he has done before, Masai is expected to give his team the opportunity to sink or swim before a path is chosen and the future is determined.

Lowry, Gasol and Ibaka are expected to become unlimited free agents next summer. For now, the Raptors are expected to roll it back – minus Leonard and Danny Green, of course, who both left the team in a free agency – to see what they are capable of.
Lowry, Gasol and Ibaka will be the three best paid players in Toronto next season. Lowry will earn $ 33.3 million compared to $ 25.6 million for Gasol and $ 23.3 million for Ibaka.
There is no idea what the market would look like for each of them, but Lowry, Gasol and Ibaka have proven last season that they are more than capable of making a difference in a team that compares the title. There is likely to be interest from teams across the division who think they are a point guard or a center away from a run in the playoffs.
Lowry has been with the Raptors since the 2012-2013 season. He has developed into a five-fold All-Star with the team and a one-time member of the All-NBA Third Team. Gasol joined the team from the Memphis Grizzlies last season, while Ibaka was traded from Orlando Magic to the Raptors in the second half of the 2016-17 season.
The three played an important role in the Raptors who won their very first championship last season.
