Real Madrid plot an amazing response to Barcelona signing Antoine Griezmann and Neymar
Manchester United have reportedly offered David De Gea a contract extension which will see him earn £350,000 per week in wages. The Spaniard is in the last year of his contract at Old Trafford and the club is making desperate attempts to tie their star goalkeeper down for a few more years.
De Gea is in the final twelve months of his contract at Manchester United and could possibly leave for free next summer. The club have made constant attempts to convince the player to extend and have failed to garner a solid response from the Spin international. However, Mirror reports that The Red Devils are putting an improved contract renewal offer on the table for De Gea one last time.
The club desperately want to keep De Gea at the club for the forthcoming years despite the goalkeeper having a rather dull season in which he made many error in high profile games. Being in the last year of his contract, the Spaniard has attracted interest from top European clubs like Paris Saint-Germain and has come close to leaving Old Trafford in the past too.
The club has rather grown weary of the players disinclination towards signing a new contract and are offering the improved renewal offer of £350,000 per week in a last ‘take it or leave’ attempt. This renewed offer would make De Gea the highest paid goalkeeper in the world and would tie him down to the club for the next five years. This comes after the club was unwilling to meet De Gea’s demands of having parity with the clubs highest wage earner, Alexis Sanchez.
As per Times, The Spanish Goalkeeper is now ready to stay at Manchester United after the new offer and is thankful to the club for going the extra mile despite the mistakes he committed last season. The deal however is yet to be finalized and neither the club not the player of his representatives have issues an official statement regarding this matter.
United’s star goalkeeper kept 10 clean sheets last season where he experienced a dip in form but the Red Devils boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer believes in De Gea and would be more than willing to trust the three time player of the year for the Manchester Club. Should negotiations break down and United fail to reach an agreement with De Gea, he would be free to look for and negotiate deals with other clubs come January 2020.
Will United be able to convince De Gea to stay or will they lose him for free once his contract expires?
