Mick Schumacher leaves the Silverstone Circuit in the center of England with mixed feelings. While he misses the points on Saturday, things are going better on Sunday.
Racing driver Mick Schumacher took sixth place in the sprint race at the end of the Formula 2 weekend at Silverstone. The 20-year-old son of Formula 1 world champion Michael Schumacher rewarded himself in central England after a spirited recovery from starting eleventh with four points for the overall standings. The victory was secured by Briton Jack Aitken.
Formula 3 European champion Schumacher had occupied the eleventh place in the premier race car in the main race a day earlier and missed the points by just one position. In the overall standings, the youngster is ranked 14th after 14 out of 24 races with 26 points.
Schumacher drives his first season in the junior racing series and is still waiting for his first podium finish. His best Formula 2 result so far is a fourth place, which he had run two weeks ago in the sprint race in Austria. The next races will take place on the first weekend of August at the Hungaroring in Budapest.
