Canada has added Leicester Tiger's scrum coach Boris Stankovich to his coaching staff for the Pacific Nations Cup and Rugby World Cup in Japan.
Stankovich will join the Canadian team next week in Langford, BC, at the start of his training camp in front of the Pacific Nations Cup opener against the US on July 27. After the Pacific, he will return to Leicester before reinstating Canada for his World Cup warming against the Americans in Vancouver on September 7 and will stay with the team through the World Cup in Japan.
Stankovich, 39, played most of his career for Leicester, although the propeller also had stints with SC Albi in France and Newport Gwent Dragons in Wales.
"He is an excellent guy and will be a great support for myself and the team," said Canada's main feature of Kingsley Jones in a statement. "We are very pleased that Leicester has given him this opportunity to work with us."
"I think the set piece can be an area of strength for us to enter the Pacific Nations Cup and then the World Cup. Boris experience helps us get it all out," he added.
After the United States, Canada takes Fiji on August 2 and Tonga on August 8 with both games in Fiji.
