Tuchel: I knew Neymar wanted to leave

PSG manager Thomas Tuchel admits he knew Neymar wanted to leave before the start of the Copa America.

Neymar, 27, joined PSG from Barcelona on a five-year deal for a world-record transfer fee of £200m in 2017.

But his two-year spell at the Parc des Princes could be over.

“Did I know he wanted to leave? Yes, I found out before the Copa America. But it is something between the club and Ney,” Tuchel told RMC.

Neymar offered to Man Utd?!

Neymar may yet get his wish of leaving PSG this summer, but could be unable to force a return to Barcelona, after the French giants offered him to five clubs.

Barcelona, Real Madrid, Manchester United, Juventus and Bayern Munich have all apparently been offered the chance to sign the wantaway star.

Barca are considered to be the frontrunners, and reportedly tabled a bid of £40m, as well as Philippe Coutinho and Ivan Rakitic.

United have been linked with Neymar before, and apparently made a bid before his switch to PSG.

However, after missing out on qualification for the Champions League, it could be difficult for United to persuade the winger to drop down to the Europa League.

Coutinho to return to Liverpool?

Philippe Coutinho is ready to return to Liverpool as Barcelona look to fund the potential world-record return of Neymar.

According to Calciomercato, Coutinho has given his approval on a return to Liverpool to work again under Jurgen Klopp.

The 27-year-old has had to watch his former club reach two Champions League finals in the past two seasons, including winning their sixth European crown in Madrid.

Not only that, but Coutinho suffered the humiliation of losing the semi-final second leg 4-0 at Anfield, a place he used to call home.

Eriksen move backed

Danny Mills says Tottenham star Christian Eriksen is still trying to engineer a move away from the club this summer.

“It’s interesting, (Paul Pogba’s agent) Mino (Raiola) has come out and said Pogba’s looking for a new venture, or words to that effect, and the world has gone crazy,” he told Football Insider.

“Eriksen came out and said it a long time ago but the speculation around Eriksen almost seems to be null and void.

“I’m sure his team and his agents are working behind-the-scenes on different options and different situations, but Tottenham will have to be prepared there is a good chance he will leave.

“I’ll be surprised if he doesn’t, the fact he publicly said he wanted a new challenge, he must know something is in the offing.

“He must know there is some sort of deal on the table somewhere along the line. It would be naive and a bit daft to come out and say you want a new challenge if you’ve have nowhere else to go.”

Griezmann’s release clause

Barcelona have included an mammoth release clause in Antoine Griezmann’s contract.

The Spanish champions announced the signing of Griezmann on Friday having triggered a £107m release clause in his Atletico Madrid contract.

But Barcelona won’t be making the same mistake as their La Liga rivals.

They’ve included a £718million buyout clause in the Frenchman’s five-year deal – that’s £100m more than Lionel Messi!

No change for Gareth

The agent of Gareth Bale has rubbished talk of a return to Tottenham.

Zinedine Zidane has told the Welshman that he’s not in his plans for the forthcoming season.

And that has led to claims the 30-year-old could make an incredible move back to the Premier League with Spurs.

But his agent Jonathan Barnett told the Daily Mail: “Nothing has changed.”

Dani Alves is prepared to take a wage reduction to complete a move to Arsenal.

Alves, 36, is a free agent having allowed his contract to run down with French champions PSG.

The Sun claim Manchester City and Tottenham have both shown interest in the right back – but Alves wants Arsenal.

He earned £230k-a-week at PSG and The Sun say he could accept less to join Unai Emery in north London.

Junior Firpo to Barcelona

It looks like Barcelona are going to win the battle to sign Real Betis wing-back Junior Firpo.

That’s according to Marca, who claim the Catalan giants have a good chance of luring the 22-year-old to the Nou Camp.

Liverpool were thought to be interested in the Dominican-born defender as cover for Andrew Robertson.

Marca say Barcelona’s first-choice target was Filipe Luis on a free transfer – but that now appears unlikely with the defender set to extend his stay at Atletico Madrid.

It’s believed Real Madrid would be prepared to negotiate despite a £45million release-clause in his contract.

Barcelona have re-signed defender Marc Cucurella.

Cucurella, 20, spent a successful season loan with La Liga side Eibar, who subsequently triggered a £1.8million purchase option.

But his stay didn’t last long.

Barcelona have now confirmed that they’re activated a ‘£3.6m repurchase clause’ in the Spaniard’s contract to bring him back to the Nou Camp.

Barcelona back Todibo

Barcelona are ready to back teenager defender Jean-Clair Todibo having missed out on Matthijs de Ligt and Victor Lindelof.

The Catalan giants had been linked with the Ajax superstar, who is set to join Juventus on a five-year deal.

Meanwhile the Manchester United centre-back was also on their radar – but it appears he’ll stay at Old Trafford next season.

Now, Mundo Deportivo claim Barcelona will instead give 19-year-old Todibo a chance to prove himself rather than pursue other transfer targets.

PSG set Neymar demands

PSG have set their demands for Neymar.

Spanish newspaper AS claim the Catalan giants had offered £36million plus Philippe Coutinho and Ousmane Dembele.

But the Ligue 1 champions aren’t interested.

That’s according to Goal, who claim the Ligue 1 champions want to recoup the £200million they paid to sign Neymar in 2017.

However, the report adds that if Barcelona continue with their plans to offer players in exchange – PSG will only accept defensive reinforcements.

Victor Lindelof talks

Victor Lindelof’s agent reportedly met with club officials to try and secure his client a move to Barcelona.

Lindelof has been linked with a move to Barcelona but, on Monday, tried to dispel talk of a move away.

“I’m very excited for a new season to start so yeah, that’s my answer, I’m very happy here.”

Yet Catalan newspaper Mundo Deportivo claim that, on Friday, Lindelof’a gent Hasan Cetinkaya met with United officials in London.

The intention of the meeting was try and force the Red Devils into letting him join Barcelona.

However, Cetinkaya was told that United ‘do not want to sell’ because ‘he is a very important player for the project ahead’.

Sign Coutinho!

Liverpool should re-sign Barcelona star Philippe Coutinho.

That’s according to former Liverpool star and ESPN FC pundit Steve Nicol, who claims his arrival would be ‘ideal’ for Jurgen Klopp’s side.

On Monday, Coutinho’s agent admitted that if his client were to move back to the Premier League, he would only join Liverpool.

“Yes,” he said when asked if Liverpool should explore a move. “I’ve been banging on and complaining about re-signing Origi because the levels drop when he’s on the pitch.

“Somebody like Coutinho would be perfect. The ideal situation for Liverpool is to have four guys – (Mohamed) Salah, (Roberto) Firmino, (Sadio) Mane and Coutinho. then you’ve got to pick three of them.

“Coutinho, he did previously play as one of the three, so he could play there.”

Arsenal are close to signing Real Madrid midfielder Dani Ceballos.

That’s according to Spanish newspaper Marca, who claim Unai Emery personally persuaded Ceballos to join.

Ceballos, 22, had offers on the table from Premier League rivals Tottenham and AC Milan.

But the Spaniard has decided to join Arsenal on a season-long loan in a deal that could be wrapped up before he was scheduled to return from holiday on July 22.

Atletico Madrid are closing in on Tottenham full-back Kieran Trippier.

Serie A duo Juventus and Napoli have both considered bidding for the 28-year-old – but Atletico are leading the race.

Diego Simeone wants a new defender to replace Juanfran and is claimed to have made contact with Arsenal’s Hector Bellerin.

But the Telegraph claim Spurs will allow Trippier to miss their pre-season trip to Asia if a £20million sale can be agreed.

Christian Eriksen latest

Christian Eriksen is attracting “a lot of interest,” according to Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino.

The Denmark international has entered the final year of his contract and has hinted at an exit.

Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid have been linked with the 27-year-old.

“I hope he will (stay),” Pochettino told reporters. “I think he is a great player, Christian. One of the biggest talents in football. After five years working with him, I am sure in the way that he plays, and I hope so, yes.

“But you know, there is a lot of interest. I hope yes, but I don’t know what is going to happen with that.”

Paul Pogba latest

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is eager to build his team around midfielder Paul Pogba despite claims he’ll leave Old Trafford this summer.

Pogba’s agent recently told The Times that the 26-year-old intends to leave the club, while the player said in Tokyo last month he could seek a new challenge elsewhere amid reports linking him to Juventus and Real Madrid

“Paul is a fantastic player, a fantastic human being and has always been a great professional,” Solskjaer told reporters in Perth.

“I said (previously), ‘if he’s in your squad, you’d build your team around him’… I haven’t changed that much since then, so I’d say the same now.”
