Fans are pretty sure they know who will win in the Canadian Football League in week 1.
But with three-legged football, too much confidence can be dangerous.
The Stampeders and Eskimo & # 39; s are heavy favorites in week 1, with more than 90 percent fans by their side.
The Lions, led by their new franchise quarterback Mike Reilly, are a small favorite at home about the Blue Bombers, which many expect to fight for the West.
Finally, in Thursday's season opener, which has already been pushed up for half an hour, the hometown of Ticats prefers to beat their former quarterback in Zach Collaros.
Can the underdogs reverse the script?
CFL Pick & # 39; Em is back for 2019, allowing fans to choose a winner and set their confidence in every game this season. It's free to play and with weekly winners and a season-long prize of $ 5,000, there's nothing to lose. *View rules regarding stripes and prices.
These are my choices for week 1:
Saskatchewan at Hamilton
Thursday 7:00 pm. ET
Both teams have a new head coach, both have the same quarterback as last year and are now taking the next step after decent seasons in 2018. Hamilton won based on their foul. The riders won with defense.
I'm interested to see what both crimes look like with a new game caller in Hamilton when Jones left a few weeks before the training camp. Meanwhile in Saskatchewan it seems that Zach Collaros has a little more room to improvise and also a year of experience in this system. Add a workhorse like William Powell to the mix and the Riders must see a jump in offensive output.
The riders' defense will be intrigued to see if they can match their historic figures last season. They have a great test early and on the road.
PICK: HAMILTON (50% confidence)
Montreal in Edmonton
Friday 9:00 am. ET
Huge changes for both teams! The Eskimo & # 39; s did their best to fill Mike Reilly's gap. I can imagine that Trevor Harris should be enormously motivated to show that he can replace Reilly and that he is motivated by the loss of last year's gray cup.
Antonio Pipkin gets the ball for the Alouettes, but I have to believe that a quick change of head coach at the start of the season is not the best way to concentrate on the first game of the season.
PICK: EDMONTON (90% confidence)
Ottawa in Calgary
Saturday | 7:00 pm. ET
The REDBLACKS and Stampeders are not very similar to the teams that played in the Gray Cup last year.
Many important players are located in different places. But in the biggest place the Stamps still have Bo Levi Mitchell.
Dominique Davis enters the season as a starter in Ottawa, so we'll see what he can produce for a team that sees his quarterback, walk-back, a top receiver and the offensive coordinator running out of season.
It will be difficult to keep pace with what the Stampeders can continue to produce with their leader.
PICK: STAMPEDERS (75% trust)
Winnipeg at BC
Saturday | 10:00 ET
The Winnipeg Blue Bombers are the team that I think will be the West Division team in the Gray Cup. They had no drastic changes and added a bit here and there.
Meanwhile, the BC lions hope Mike Reilly is the home run they are hoping to get the lions back in gray for the first time since 2011.
While the Lions have added some pieces and a great coach in DeVone Claybrooks to take over from Wally Buono, I'm going to stick to the more consistent selection of the two to start the season.
PICK: WINNIPEG (33% trust)
