Los Angeles – American John Isner, 11th in the world, has declared Friday for the Roland Garros tournament, the second Grand Slam of the year (May 26-June 9).
Isner has not appeared on the circuit since he was injured at the end of March, one foot in the final of the Masters 1000 in Miami against the Swiss Roger Federer.
"Unfortunately, I have to give up for Roland Garros, the injury of Miami is not yet completely cured and it is impossible that I can be ready to play on clay in Paris"he explained.
Isner, 34, hopes instead to be awarded for the Wimbledon grass tournament, the 3rd Grand Slam tournament of the year (July 1- 14).
The American has never passed the 8th finals at Roland Garros.
