Roger Federer is looking for his 1,200. ATP Tour single victory in Madrid Open today, with top men's seed Novak Djokovic, Rafael Nadal and WTA World One Naomi Osaka also in action.

World Number Three Roger Federer takes over Frenchman Gael Monfis, who has won two of the last three ATP tournaments between the couple.

Rafael Nadal's reward for passing past hot prospect Felix Auger-Aliassime is a meeting with another rising star, American Frances Tiafoe, while top seed Novak Djokovic turns Frenchman Jeremy Chardy.

Two-time winner Simona Halep meets Australian Ashleigh Barty before WTA number one Naomi Osaka plays Swedish number one Belinda Bencic.
