The final of the African Football Champions League will oppose Esperance Tunis to Wydad Casablanca, after the draw in the semi-final return Saturday night by the Tunisian club in the field of Lubumbashi, DR Congo.
Espérance Tunis, winner of the trophy, qualified on Saturday (May 4th) for the final of the African Champions League of football, where they will face the Moroccans of Wydad Casablanca, a third consecutive face-to-face final between clubs from the north of the continent.
In the semifinals back, Esperance, victorious 1-0 in front of their home crowd, went to head (0-0) to Tout Puissant Mazembe in DR Congo. Wydad, too, showed great strength on the field of South Africans Mamelodi Sundowns (0-0), passing the final thanks to his good result of the first leg (2-1).
Esperance and Wydad, who have already clashed in the final in 2011 (Tunisian victory 1-0 on both games), have dominated African football for three seasons. In 2018, Espérance de Tunis won in the final against the Egyptians Al Ahly. In 2017, Wydad Casablanca won the trophy against the same opponent, Al Ahly.
The 2019 Final will be held on May 24 or 25 for the first leg, and May 31 or May 1st June for the return match.
