It's about fame, trophies and a lot of money: the four majors are the most important tournaments in golf. Starting this Thursday, the stars compete for Tiger Woods and Co. on the second major of the year.

The 101st edition of the PGA Championship will be held this time at the Bethpage Black Course near New York. The most important facts about the four major tournaments:

MASTERS

April 11-14 at the Augusta National Golf Club

In 1934, the first Masters was played at the Augusta National Golf Club. It is the only major that is always played in the same place.
